Federal Communications Commission To Host Summit On 911 And Enhanced 911 Services On February 6, 2008

 

        Washington, D.C. – The Federal Communications Commission’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) today announced that it will convene a summit on issues relating to the deployment and use of Next Generation 911 technology and the coordination of those efforts among Public Safety Answering Points, the telecommunications industry and manufacturers on February 6, 2008, 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room (TW-C305).

 

The Summit will include expert panels composed of representatives from the public safety community, government, and the communications industry.  A detailed agenda will be released in the coming weeks.

 

The Summit will be open to the public; admittance however will be limited to the seating available. Those individuals who are interested in attending the summit may pre-register on-line at: http://www.fcc.gov/pshs/summits/911/.   Those who pre-registered will be asked to provide their name, title, organization affiliation, and contact information. Individuals may also contact Sue Gilgenbach at 202-418-0639 regarding pre-registration.   A live audiocast will be available at www.fcc.gov on a first come, first serve basis (maximum of 200 listeners at any one time).
