New York State and federal officials remind those who were affected by Hurricane Irene that they have only five days left to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for possible federal disaster assistance.

Last Day to Apply For Public Assistance is August 22
Officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency would like to remind local governments, municipalities and non-profit agencies in Grafton and Coos counties to submit a Request for Public Assistance (RPA) by August 22, 2011, if they implemented emergency measures or their infrastructure was affected during the spring flooding which occurred from May 26th through May 30th.

FEMA Disaster Assistance: Monday is Last Day to Register for Federal Disaster Assistance

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Disaster survivors who sustained storm and tornado damages between April 15 and May 31 have one more day to register for federal disaster assistance. About 86,000 survivors have already registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency , but those who have not must do so by Monday, July 18.
