SAMHSA Accepting Applications for $1.5 Million in Grants for Supportive Housing Services
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is accepting applications for fiscal year 2009 grants for the Services in Supportive Housing program. The purpose of this program is to help prevent or reduce chronic homelessness by funding services in coordination with existing permanent supportive housing programs and resources for individuals and families experiencing chronic homelessness.
SAMHSA expects that up to $1.5 million will be available for up to 4 grants of approximately $400,000 per grant for up to five years. The actual award amount may vary, depending on the availability of funds and the progress achieved by the awardees. The grants will be administered by SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services.
WHO CAN APPLY: Entities that operate HUD-funded permanent-supportive housing or other comparable programs. [See Section III-1 of the RFA for complete eligibility information.]
