CalHFA does business with various banks who own foreclosed homes, also known as “Real Estate Owned” or “REO” properties, and administers the sale of a number of foreclosed homes itself. CalHFA is now offering special interest rates on some of these foreclosed homes, and invites you to learn more about the three types of REO properties listed on our web site:
SMART Loan Program Properties: This program includes CalHFA-owned properties that are eligible to be financed with CalHFA programs.
CSHLP Program Properties: This program includes properties specifically for the CSHLP Program and are properties that are owned by CalHFA partners.
CalHFA-owned Properties: These properties are owned by CalHFA, but are not eligible for CalHFA financing.
