.S. Border Patrol to Hold Recruiting Event in Bay City, Mich.

Bay City, Mich. — The U.S. Border Patrol will hold a recruiting and hiring event in Bay City, Michigan Saturday, January 10, at the Double Tree Hotel at 600 Saginaw St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Border Patrol is continuing to expand its recruiting and hiring efforts and is looking to identify candidates wanting to work in law enforcement protecting our nation's borders. Agents will be available to answer questions and discuss opportunities and qualifications for the Border Patrol agent position.
The Border Patrol is looking for candidates who can successfully complete a rigorous screening process, which includes a written examination, structured interview, language aptitude or Spanish language proficiency test, medical examination and drug test, a physical fitness test, as well as a background investigation.
Candidates hired for the position must complete the Border Patrol basic training academy in Artesia, N.M., as part of a two-year internship program. Initial salaries are very competitive and agents have the promotional potential to earn more than $70,000 within three years of service. Generous benefits and pay include federal health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, and up to an additional 25 percent in overtime pay.
