Running Springs SBA Center Relocates

Release Date: December 13, 2007
Release Number: 1731-076

» More Information on California Wildfires

PASADENA, Calif. -- The Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Running Springs will relocate Friday, Dec. 14 to Rim of the World Recreation & Park District, 26577 State Hwy. 18, Rim Forest, CA 92378. The DLOC, run by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SBA Customer Service Representatives at the DLOC are available to issue and accept loan applications, answer questions about SBA's disaster loan programs, explain the application process, and help each individual complete their application.

The SBA is the federal government's primary source of money for the long-term rebuilding of disaster-damaged private property. SBA helps homeowners and renters, businesses of all sizes, and private, nonprofit organizations fund repairs or rebuilding efforts, and covers the cost of replacing lost or disaster-damaged property. These disaster loans cover losses not fully compensated by insurance or other recoveries and do not duplicate benefits of other agencies or organizations.

Businesses or individuals unable to visit the DLOC may obtain information by calling SBA's toll-free number: 1-800-659-2955 (TTY 1-800-877-8339) or visit SBA at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance .

If you have not registered, you can do so by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585.  Lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Those affected by the fires can also register online at www.fema.gov . The deadline to register with FEMA is January 9, 2008.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
